It's no secret that for most of my life, I've been plagued with periods of terrible migraines. I don't know how they are for other folks. I can tell you that mine are not only painful but can be vomit-inducing, face-numbing, sight-damaging, audio and/or visual hallucination creating nightmares. They really aren't pleasant in the slightest.
After my latest bout, which resulted in a trip to the emergency room where they basically placed me into a coma before they sent me away for a CT scan, which I think was really a ruse to try to steal my diamond earrings. Little did they know, that even in my thickly stoned state, this one very slurredly and glossy-eyedly watched for and asked for her diamond earrings once extracted from my magnetic tunnel of doom. Foiled their plans, I did!
Ahem.
I started taking some new medication for my migraines. It's something I have to take every day and it won't actually take effect for about 6-8 weeks, but we hope it will help. Coincidentally, I also started taking a second medication for another issue that I'm dealing with. (PTSD. I'm sorry my lovlies. As much as I adore you and as completely out of character as it is for me not to share, I'm just not ready to go into that dark place with you. We may never travel there. I hope you understand)
So anyway... the point of the blog...
I'm not quite sure which medication makes it happen, but I've noticed that I have some pretty vivid and often times ridiculously amusing dreams. This is just a sample of one such dream.
The setting:
A snowy mountain top. We are walking along a half-frozen creek. There are scattered pine trees of various sizes throughout the mountain. Along the creek, there are a few scattered smaller pines, about 3 feet high. There is also a large pine. His root system reaches to the creek, so that it hangs over the creek and you can reach under the root system.
The dream:
I am on this snowy mountain with my husband, our dear friend Matt and our two boys. We are looking for special pines. We are talking about growing our own Christmas trees. Special Christmas trees.
We've chopped down two of the 3-foot pines. They are set aside on the ground while we search for pine cones.
One of the boys is reaching under the root system of the large pine along the creek, looking for particular pine cones. As we are discussing the desired pine cones, (read everyone else is telling him how to look for pine cones) we notice that the small trees have jumped up, gathered two smaller treelings and have now started running away and up the mountainside.
All we do is watch it and complain how none of us have a camera with us to record this because nobody will believe it when we get home.
******* ******* ******* ******* ******* ******* *******
That's it. That's the dream. Ridiculous. Now I have to tell my friend that I dreamed about her husband and I have to tell my husband that I dreamed of another man. **sigh**
May all of your dreams be as silly and amusing.
